Flooded lake habitat of Hyphessobrycon eques and Astyanax lacustris in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Water is heavily tannin-stained and the lake has greatly increased in size after the rains, inundating large areas of marginal grasses. Plants include Nymphaea gardneriana, Mayaca sp., Cabomba furcata and Eleocharis sp.
