Titles read: “MUSIC ON CANVAS“. Chelsea, London. Several shots of painting hanging on the walls of an artist's studio. Commentator explains that they have all been inspired by a different piece of music. Instead of a title at the base of the frame, each picture has a top line of music. We see the artist, Richard Thompson, at work on a large painting while Peter Burden plays one of Chopin's Nocturnes for his inspiration on a grand piano. When Peter stops playing, Richard turns around with a frown - he cannot carry on without his inspiration! Peter carries on playing. The 'Nocturne' painting is rather dark and sombre; looks like several white figures standing and floating about the countryside on a moonlit night. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
