JP Morgan was a wealthy American banker, philanthropist and art collector born in 1837. He was the financier behind the International Mercantile Marine Company, whose subsidiary company White Star Line, owned and operated the Titanic. Morgan was a very influential figure in the banking industry and helped avoid a crash in the “panic of 1907“. He was also a driving force behind the creation of the US Federal Reserve in 1913.
