📜 [Intro] Tian An 1000 Trees is a landmark mixed-use development project in Shanghai, designed by the renowned British architect Thomas Heatherwick and developed by Tian An China Investments Company Limited. The project is located along Moganshan Road in the Putuo District, adjacent to the Suzhou Creek and the M50 arts district. Design and Architecture The most distinctive feature of Tian An 1000 Trees is its unique “hanging gardens“ design. The structure is composed of two mountainous buildings that resemble large, terraced hills. Each terrace is planted with trees and greenery, creating an urban forest that contrasts with the surrounding cityscape. The design concept aims to integrate nature into the urban environment, providing a green oasis in the bustling city. The buildings are supported by a grid of concrete columns, each topped with a planter, giving the impression of trees growing out of the structure itself.
