This is a test and review of Adorian by Landsknecht Emporium, a 15th century Messer. Quite an impressive piece of craftsmanship, especially for the price! It's a compact design, perfect for a commoner's everyday carry in the Middle Ages, as both a tool and weapon. As a reproduction it impressed me with its excellent handling, remarkably tight fit, and formidable cutting power. *** Specifications *** Overall length: 70.5 cm (27-1/2'') Blade length: 22 cm (56'') Weight: 813 g Point of balance: 9 cm (3-1/2'') Blade material: 6150 spring steel Handle material: Mahaleb Cherry wood Construction: Full-tang, pinned handle scales Price: 370 EUR / 400 USD / 540 CAD (as of May 2023) *** Pros & Cons *** Historically accurate Light and well balanced Solid construction, tight fit Great cutting blade High quality for the price - Sheath costs extra - Slight cosmetic flaws in the finish (by modern standards) *** Where to get it *** Tatami mats for sword tests: *** Music credits *** “Messenger Part II“ by Elegh Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0) Outro: “Highland Storm“ by The Slanted Room Records Used with artist's permission *** Merch *** If you want to join Bonfire to start selling your own merch: *** Support the channel *** Help fund future videos, get bonus content and access to an exclusive Discord server: Other ways to support the channel by shopping through affiliate links: Kult of Athena, my favorite online store for reproductions of historical arms and armor, fantasy swords, etc: Where to get HEMA gear and practice swords: Want to treat your face fluff?
