It's the home of the Berlin Philharmonic, great conductors like Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado, Sir Simon Rattle, Kirill Petrenko, and many more have given concerts here: The Philharmonie Berlin. Built between 1960 and 1963 to plans by Hans Scharoun, the famous concert house forged a path that would inspire architects around the world. Since its very inception, the Berlin Philharmonie has served as a model for the modern concert hall. This year, the iconic building turns 60 years old – and has lost none of its splendour.
