Russian Empire, 1914 Donate & Support: Patriotic propaganda couplets by Dmitrij Bogemskij, which were created at the beginning of the First World War to enhance morale at the front and rear. In their form, they imitate a folk song, and, in particular, Russian traditional ditties (“chastushki”). We could confidently assert that this is a musical version of the Russian propaganda popular print (“lubok”), in the style of which we decided to design this video. The couplets turned out to be very popular, the records with them were released in large editions, and therefore this rare record of the times of the Great War can please us today.
