North Korean film screened in South Korean film festival

This 17-minute clip shows the highlights of the North Korean feature film “The Story of Our Home” (우리 집 이야기,) starring actresses Paek Sol Mi (Jong A) and Kim Thae Gum (Un Jong.) The family drama is the winner of the best movie award at the 2016 Pyongyang International Film Festival in North Korea, and was screened in the 22th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in South Korea, held July 12-22. The 100-minute film is loosely based on the true story of Jang Jong Hwa, a teenaged girl who dedicated her life to take care of three unrelated orphaned children. Later, she received the communist state’s acknowledgement as the “child mother.”
