Wakizashi is the sword that symbolizes the honor of the Samurai. Wakizashi appeared around the 15th century, this sword was carried by the Samurai alongside the katana. Wakizashi have a tongue 30-60 cm long. For wakizashi that are equal in length to the katana will be called O-wakizashi, and for those that are equal in length to Tanto (short sword) will be referred to as KO-wakizashi.
