Southampton, Hampshire. Royal Mail Motor Liner 'Asturias' (22,500 tons) first and largest ship of her class, sails for S. America. L/S of the bow of an ocean liner, tilt down to show people in the foreground, looking at the vessel from the quayside. M/S, looking from the quayside, of the liner sails in, towards the camera, to dock. M/S of the liner coming into dock, as before but with a better view of the ship's name sign. L/S of the liner sailing slowly past the camera. Various M/Ss of the different funnels and rigging on the liner. Various shots of the captain on the bridge of the ship. Various shots, from the top deck, of the funnels and masts, a man walks around the deck in front of the camera. M/S of passengers walking up and down a section of covered deck with rows of deck chairs on. Panning shot of the ship in dock, pan to show older ship in dock nearby.
