After finding their bus in Jacksonville, they spent two years converting it into a cozy and functional home while still on active duty. Their investment in the bus was between $50,000 and $60,000, but every penny was worth it for the comfort and convenience they now enjoy on the road. Key Features of Their Bus: Kitchen: They designed a spacious kitchen with durable butcher block countertops, a farmhouse sink, and an apartment-sized stove. Custom-built cabinets with pull-out drawers and a pull-out pantry provide ample storage for all their cooking needs. Living Room: The living area serves multiple purposes, including dining, lounging, and additional sleeping space. It features a diesel heater and a dedicated desk for their son’s online school. Bedroom: They created a comfortable space for their teenage son with a bunk bed and doors for privacy. Their bedroom includes a walk-in closet with a full-length mirror and storage for their electrical system. Bathroom: They installed an airhead toilet and a tiled shower with a stone floor, ensuring durability and ease of use on the road. Electrical System: The bus is equipped with Victron components, 206 amp-hour lithium batteries, and a 3,000-watt multiplus inverter, ensuring reliable power for all their needs. Exterior Features: The roof racking system uses unistruts and hockey pucks for debris-free solar panel mounting. They also have exterior storage compartments and a reliable Honda generator for additional power. Advice for Aspiring Bus Converters: Building a bus to your liking requires commitment and a willingness to learn. While there are many ways to approach a conversion, it’s crucial to design your space to meet your unique needs. When it comes to electrical work, hiring a professional is highly recommended to ensure safety. 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell icon to never miss an update! ➡️ #buslife #tinyhometours #vanlifeadventures Shot by - Edited by - TINY HOME TOURS LINKS: Subscribe - Facebook - Instagram - Newsletter : Podcast : Apply for a tour : LIFE ON THE ROAD IN A SKOOLIE LINKS Life On The Road In A Skoolie Newsletter : Subscribe For Life On The Road Videos :
