Tim Walz changed the Minnesota flag design. The old flag had images of farming, an Indian, a MN lake, and flowers. It also had a saying on it “L’etoile du Nord meaning “The Star of the North“, the state motto since inception. Since the 1990s, Somalian immigrants have been settling in Minnesota in droves. They have become active in politics and brought a new ideology into the United States... for example, Ilhan Omar was the first Muslim-American to become a lawmaker in the United States. Right here in the heartland of America. The new flag closely resembles the Somalian flag. Why did Tim Walz feel it was necessary to change the flag? Source: Nevs
