The USS Vincennes is in the Gulf to help defend travelling oil tankers from hostile Iranian speedboats. Capt. Rogers and his crew are engaged in a sea battle with the speedboats equipped with machine guns and rocket launchers when the Aegis radar picks up the track of an incoming aircraft.
