The love story of the son of Imam Shamil Jamaluddin and Lisa Olenina against the background of the historical events of Russia in the first half of the XIX century. The film directed by Anton Sievers and Rauf Kubaev is based on the real events of the Caucasian War. In the mid-1850s, Jamaluddin returned to his father — he was exchanged for two ladies—in-waiting of the Empress, captured by the highlanders during a raid on Georgia - but he lived in his father's house for a very short time, dying in 1858 from tuberculosis.
