Russian troops entered Chasov Yar from the north and south, military correspondent Dmitry Kulko said on the First Channel. At the moment, units of the Russian Armed Forces are taking the city in pincers, and some of the roads are being shot at. Units and formations of the Southern Group of Forces are fighting here. One of the Ukrainian soldiers was captured - he was taken into the 5th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces two months ago. He says: he was hiding from mobilization at home (in the Nikolaev region), but he was still scooped up and thrown to the front line. I gave up myself. The hero of the report is Alexander Usov. During the assault, he jumped into enemy cover and found himself surrounded, and without thinking twice, he called fire on himself. By some miracle he did not die, although he was severely wounded. Under fire, he was able to get out and went to his own people - he was helped by a copter, the operator of which led his colleague in zigzags between the minefields. Severely exhausted and having lost a lot of blood, Alexander is now coming to his senses. Opposing NATO weapons in Chasov Yar is the Malka, a self-propelled gun with approximately the same range, but with a larger caliber. The shell weighs more than a hundredweight; about 50 of them have to be thrown per day - the fighters with a smile refuse the title of “jocks”. Right during the filming of the report, the guys destroyed the Polish self-propelled gun “Crab“ - it only managed to fire a couple of shots, and it burst into flames like a match.
