Today we go back into the vault for a tour of the one and only Rusty Wessel Fish House. This state of the art literal Fish house, yes you read that right a house built entirely with the sole purpose of housing a world renown, outstanding collection of tropical fish. These are not just you average tropicalfish either. Almost each and every specimen within the collection was hand caught but Rusty himself on his numerous collecting trips throughout latin America. An extremely dedicated and passionate individual Rusty built this fish house for the sole purpose of species conservation as their natural habitats and slowly but surely being destroyed. 8000 plus gallons of freshwater cichlids call the Wessel Fish House home. The entire facility is fully automated for maintaining water chemistry and seasonal temperatures that would mimic their natural home waters. Seasons and inspired via the sun. All together creates a true Cichlid paradise at his home in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Rusty is known the world over for his expertise on all the amazing cichlids hailing from Latin America.
