Police doused protesters with a water cannon in Santiago on Friday amid an uptick in tensions at anti-government demonstrations in Chile, after 50 days of increased pressure on President Sebastian Pinera into taking steps to reduce inequality in the country. Protesters faced off with police, throwing rocks at officers who then responded with tear gas and force.
