A technical fault left Tower Bridge stuck open, with cars and pedestrians stranded on either side of the London landmark. The bascule bridge opened for use in 1894 and is a key crossing over the River Thames. The road panels became stuck in an upright position after they were opened to allow a large boat to pass through on Monday.
