Bones and muscles give it structure, but drawing the surface details like fat, skin, veins and nails shows the character, give hands more expression, and make your drawings look realistic. Part 2 (this lesson) teaches all the surface details, like fingernails, skin folds, and fat pads. In Part 3, I’ll show you a drawing process for drawing hands from reference or from your imagination.
