Edited extract of the White Swan Pas de Deux from David Dawson’s brilliant “Swan Lake,” performed at the San Francisco Ballet 2020 Gala by principal dancers Sofiane Sylve & Carlo di Lanno. I edited the video & changed the music to the song “Helena” by My Chemical Romance. Although I never got super in to them, this song always struck me as incredibly beautiful. I remember there being a ballerina in the music video, and I felt it was such a shame that she was dressed and styled to look emo! A pure, traditional, beautiful ballerina would have elevated the song so much. With David Dawson’s choreography, though, I now have felt the powerful beauty in this song that had been obscured to a degree. It’s always the ballet that makes the music, NEVER the other way around. :) I had to edit out a good portion of the performance (regretfully), considering it is ten minutes long. SO PLEASE PLEASE watch the REAL, unedited performance on David Dawson’s YouTube channel (and hit like and subscribe while you’re at it). Mr. Dawson is absolutely brilliant! —
