On 25th April in 1975, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales visited Nunavut, the territory stretching across northern Canada that is home to the indigenous Inuit people. The delay to Charles' flight (Nunavut can only be accessed by air or sea) left the crowd of locals who had turned up to greet the prince out in the cold. “Sorry we were late,“ quipped the future king when speaking to well-wishers on the runway. Charles III will be officially crowned King on 6 May 2023. Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not yet confirmed whether he will attend the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London. #PrinceCharles #PrinceOfWales #KingCharles #Charles #King #KingCharlesIII #Canada #Nunavut #Commonwealth #Inuit #Arctic #OnThisDay Follow us for more royal news, history, and highlights: ♛ Subscribe to our brand new show, exclusive to Snapchat - ♛ Subscribe to our YouTube channel (tap the bell icon and stay up to date with all the latest Royal videos!) - ♛ Find us on TikTok @royalfamilychannel ♛ Follow us on Facebook - ♛ Tweet with us! -
