Two Islands, Two Countries: Uncovering the Secrets of the Diomede Islands Hello Everyone! In this video, we embark on a journey to uncover the secrets and unique features of the Diomede Islands. We explore the history, culture, and geography of these remote islands, and how they have been shaped by their location at the crossroads of two continents. The Diomede Islands are a pair of small, isolated islands located in the Bering Strait, between Alaska, United States, and Chukotka, Russia. These two islands are known as Big Diomede, which is a part of Russia, and Little Diomede, which is a part of the United States. Despite being only about 3 miles apart, the two islands are separated by the International Date Line and a border between the two countries. Through interviews with local residents, historians, and researchers, we learn about the challenges and opportunities of living in such a remote and isolated place, as well as the ways in which the two communities on each island
