The original work was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1994, and in 1996 it was made into a TV anime for the first time. Since then, it has undergone numerous developments, from OVAs to theatrical releases, and now with Rurouni Kenshin: The Hokkaido Arc serializing in Jump SQ. This long-awaited work aims to reconstruct the original story from the first episode using the latest animation technology, to create a Rurouni Kenshin anime that will appeal to current anime fans. For the animation production, talented staff such as director Hideyo Yamamoto (Strike the Blood) and Hideyuki Kurata (Made in Abyss) for series composition were gathered. The cast members will be renewed, with Soma Saito in the role of Kenshin Himura. After nearly 30 years of serialization, the new TV anime Rurouni Kenshin is coming soon.
