New York: Rochester police say that six people were shot and one officer was injured in a shooting that took place at MLK Park in downtown Rochester around 2:45 this morning. In a press conference at the Public Safety Building, Rochester police said that six people were shot at MLK Park overnight and one officer sustained injuries. The incident happened around 2:45 in the morning. Chief David Smith says after officers near MLK park heard what sounded like gunshots, they arrived and found a 33-year-old man with one gunshot wound to the lower body. Officers applied a tourniquet and he was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Shortly after, five additional victims were located. A 33-year-old male, a 17-year-old male, an 18-year-old male, a 21-year-old male, a 25-year-old female, and a 20-year-old female were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
