Oleg Kononenko, the commander of the Roscosmos cosmonaut squad and TASS special correspondent, brought his favorite novel “The Captain’s Daughter“ by Alexander Pushkin to the ISS on his fifth flight. The cosmonaut shared a video of the book floating in zero gravity. “2024 will mark a major cultural event, the 225th birth anniversary of the great Russian writer and poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. Through his creative work, Pushkin greatly influenced the development of Russian literature, while his pieces have brought acclaim to Russia and our culture for centuries. One of my favorite works of Pushkin in my youth was ‘The Captain’s Daughter’, which is why in my fifth space flight I took this book with me aboard the ISS,“ said our special correspondent.
