Dozens of far-right nationalists gathered in central Athens on Friday to protest against the planned procession of Little Amal, a doll symbolising the plight of refugees and their children. Police intervened to separate rival groups of demonstrators as nationalists were met by a few Antifa counter-protesters. Despite the interruption, the procession reportedly managed to take place in other areas of the city. Little Amal, made by a young Syrian refugee, is currently on a journey through Europe. It is set to travel to Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and finally the UK.
