As primary and secondary human surrogate parents Steve and I become the only humans who will win the trust of the baby Vervet monkeys we rescue and who remain in our care for the first three months of their lives. Other babies rescued by us and entrusted to other surrogate moms are treated in the same way. There are many reasons for this....
