Drafi Deutscher was a phenomena. After an infamous scandal in 1967 he virtually disappeared from the public, working as a songwriter and producer. (The 1977 Boney M. hit “Belfast“ was penned by Deutscher.) He then released music under pseudonyms such as “Masquerade“ (their 1983 hit “Guardian Angel“ was covered by German singer Nino de Angelo and released under the title of “Jenseits von Eden“) and together with Oliver Simon as “Mixed Emotions“. “You Want Love“, released in 1986, was the duo's biggest hit. That same year, Deutscher also released his German-language solo album “Gemischte Gefühle“, which translates as “Mixed Emotions“. The Mixed Emotions album “Deep from the Heart“ charted at the same time, making Drafi Deutscher responsible for two of the 15 biggest-selling albums of 1987 in Germany. “You Want Love“ was the 4th best-selling single of 1987 in Germany, remaining on the chart for 38 weeks, wich is rare for a single. (1987's 3rd biggest hit, “'It's a Sin“ by the Pet Shop Boys, only charted half as long.) --- Electrola – 1C K 060 14 7172 6 1986 --- #Drafi #DrafiDeutscher #OliverSimon #MixedEmotions #YouWantLove #Extended #Maxi
