Dmitry Sergeyevich Likhachev (1906 - 1999) was a Soviet and Russian philologist, cultural critic, art historian, Doctor of Philology, professor. Chairman of the Board of the Russian Cultural Foundation, Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Russian Russian is the author of fundamental works devoted to the history of Russian literature and Russian culture. Author of works (including more than forty books) on a wide range of problems of the theory and history of ancient Russian literature. Whatever century is outside the window, these works will be relevant and in demand, as if they were written only yesterday for us and about us.
