Follow me on Twitter @ Get Great Retro Scene News @ Developed by Dave Thomas and published by Ultimate in 1984 The first game in the Pendragon series on C64 is a remarkably clever - and attractive - title for it's age. The objective is to locate 16 pieces of the pentacle key from around the castle, then take them to the monolith containing the staff itself. Some of the pentacle pieces require extra puzzles to be solved - I particularly liked the “Waiting Room“ puzzle, and finding where all the pieces are located will take quite some time. Many of the rooms are inhabited by evil creatures and demons, which can be dispatched temporarily using magic spells, but you must learn which spell is effective against which enemy, and the learning process can cost you dearly. Returning a piece of the pentacle restores your health, which is just as well. Credits Coding: Dave Thomas Graphics: Bob T
