.... what comes next? On #PiDay, we celebrate the famous number that has boggled minds for centuries. Watch to learn what Pi is, why it's important, and just how many digits of Pi we know. Whether it's pie or Pi, there's circles involved. The value commonly known as -- celebrated on March 14th, or 3/14 -- refers to the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. But, it's got a place in everyday life as well as complicated mathematical equations. Since Pi is never ending (and never repeating), computer scientists and engineers have been competing -- for no reason other than to test the limits of computing power and for fun -- to beat the record for most digits of Pi accurately calculated. Google's Emma Haruka Iwao is the current record holder, beating the last record by 9 trillion digits. Find out how many digits she identified, and how. How many digits of Pi can you recite -- without cheating? Put your personal record in the comments below, and hit the like button too.
