Item title reads - A nation's last tribute. L/S as the cortege moves slowly past Guards with their heads bowed, people stand at the sides with their umbrellas up. Intertitle - 'in striking contrast to pageantry of King Edward's funeral ..... the procession was a simple one, but nevertheless, as impressive.' More Guards walk past followed by various regiments and officers. The funeral procession moves slowly along. Various shots as they pass the Cenotaph, everything is covered in snow. Various shots as the regiments pass again, a military band plays. Various shots of the coffin on the carriage making its way along. Intertitle - 'by a strange coincidence, there were occasional bursts of snow as on the day when London first welcomed her in 1863.' Intertitle - '.... and for hours a vast queue braved the bitter cold to pay their last tribute to “Alexandra the loved.“' L/S of the queues of people walking down the street, the camera pans across them, winding around corners.
