Pig Iron - Pig Iron 1970 US ,Blues Rock, Psychedelic Rock This is the only album released in 1970 by Hard Rockers Pig Iron from New York (USA). Band members, Van Scyoc and Adam Ippolito will later join Elephant's Memory, and Marty Fogel will later appear in the shape of Lou Reed. A big Hard Rock LP with many Blues and Jazz Rock items, unfortunately an album that is largely overlooked, few to a few know it and definitely deserves your attention, but if you listen to Heavy Metal in the narrow sense of the term then this LP, it's just not for you. This album from Pig Iron offers a brute hard rock sound in the style of Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears. The band toured America by playing in big outdoor festivals where the headliners were Rascals, Blodwyn Pig, Bob Seger and Chicago, but that did not last long, and Pig Iron unfortunately broke up in 1971. The talented singer Alan Abrahams later makes success and extensive career with the Pure Prairie League, Joan Baez and David Cassidy among others. Hitman Adam Ippolito and bassist Gary Van Scyoc will join Elephant's Memory band John Lennon and Yoko Ono, a figure that was for their own personal musical vision. Last but not least, saxophonist Marty Vogel had a career in Lou Reed's band, and the later fortune of guitarist Bill Peters and trumpeter Paul Squire is a mystery since no one knows what they did and they went. The Pig Iron album had many positive elements for those who liked the good 70s Hard and Blues Rock, great musicality, while on the whole disc and an ability for smart, nice compositions. Screaming Jay Hawkins Screamin 'I Put A Spell On You “is absolutely unique and a delightful blend of Blues with Hard Rock elements, better than the original (in my opinion) and any other cover you've heard. “I Can not Make It Alone“ is another favorite song with a melody that still sounds fresh and original after almost 45 years. The second part of the album has more musical pleasures, the pleasant “Easy Time Now“, “Abe's Blues“ with many gospel elements and “Top Of The World“ which is nothing less than a stunning Hard Rock and Jazzy composition. A disc that does not bother to be heard but pleasant mood and way. Tracklist A1 People Gonna Talk Written-By – D. Penn*, S. Oldham* 0:00 A2 I Put A Spell On You Written-By – J.
