I created this unique laser device which can project raster images, like Gifs, over long distances. It uses a combination of a high speed rotating mirror and a galvo to draw each frame. With a resolution of up to 320x120, it's not exactly HD, but the aesthetics are incredible! This video was sponsored by PCBWay. They offer rapid prototyping and production services for PCB production, 3D printing, CNC machining and more. 0:00 - Intro 0:49 - The plan 1:49 - Raster vs. Vector images 2:14 - Safety 2:25 - Upgrading the old laser projector 3:22 - Improving the resolution 5:47 - The vertical axis 7:17 - Building the prototype 8:26 - Resolution limitations 9:28 - Adding more colors 11:42 - The RGB laser 12:22 - Turning images into data arrays 12:58 - My janky setup 14:31 - Designing a PCB 15:07 - PCBWay Sponsorship 15:36 - PCBs and CNC machined parts 15:51 - The physical design 16:38 - Indoor tests 17:52 - Outdoor tests 18:48 - Reviewing the device
