To commemorate the bombing of Rotterdam exactly 80 years ago and its resurrection, you can watch a historical recording of Mahler’s Second Symphony conducted by Bernhard Haitink. This performance of the ’Resurrection Symphony’ took place on 14 May 1990 in the presence of Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus, among others, and representatives of other cities affected by the war, including Coventry, Dresden, Hiroshima, Leningrad and Warsaw.
