When we see someone with rounded shoulders, one of the first things we 💡 think about is tight pecs, specifically the pec minor. This can play a key role in shoulder impingement. The pec minor attaches to the coracoid process of the scapula and the 3rd, 4th, and 5th ribs. When it contracts, it pulls the scapula ↘ forward and down to what you know as rounded shoulders. This position will narrow the subacromial space. Now, this may not be a problem as long as it can move back into a good position when you move your arm. Often it can’t though, and can lead to repeated 💥 irritation of your impingement. The release shown here will decrease the resting tone of your pec minor via a pin and stretch to help you 🔓 unlock the motion of your shoulder blade. Work all along the muscle for 1 to 2 minutes and then raise your arm overhead 🙌 and see if you can get some more mobility and pain free movement. Tag a friend with tight pecs and share the wealth!
