Zac Harmon has expressed an impartial love for music for more than twenty years. Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, he is a disciple of the blues sound of Farish Street. Farish Street is universally recognized as home to many great blues legends, including the great Elmore James. He began his professional career at age 16, playing guitar with Sam Myers, a friend of his father. A short two years later, he was playing with Dorothy Moore, ZZ Hill and other known blues artists. Since then, he has had a long and illustrious life in the blues, and the Mississippi Bar BQ is the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his story. Zac Harmon recently became part of the Catfood Records family and his debut album, Mississippi Bar BQ at El Paso, Texas, came out on July 19, 2019. Produced by Grammy Award-winning Jim Gaines (Santana, Steve Ray Vaughan) O Mississippi Bar BQ offers the world ten new original songs and a killer cover of Bob Dylan's “Knockin 'on Heaven's Door.“ The album is the most progressive release of Harmon's career and he revels in the opportunity to bring his style “Bobby“ Blue “Bland-meets-Freddie King to anywhere he wants, under the attentive ears of a master producer.“ “Gypsy Road“ opens the album with a medium speed funk / rock vibe that is instantly fascinating. Zac puts some extremely timid guitar parts throughout the main groove and then demonstrates his skillful lead over a solo bridge. His voice is warm, expressive and smooth, with a superior quality that allows him to stand out from more rude blues singers. Writing, playing and singing here all happen on a high level and Harmon sounds as if he has another dozen music albums inside him ready to explode. His live performances combine elements of everything that influenced him: soul-blues, gospel, reggae and modern blues-rock. If you still are not hip for him, you should be. You'll love this album! Too good!!!
