Join us on one of the most scenic journeys in the world - Golden Pass in Switzerland, stretching from Montreux on Lake Geneva, via river Sarine/Sanne valley up to the jet-set ski resort of Gstaad. From Gstaad route takes us down the river Simme Valley (Simmental) via Zweisimmen (break-of-gauge border between MOB and BLS railway networks) reaching the Lake Thun (Thunersee) at Spiez. From Spiez we will follow the southern shores of Lake Thun up to Interlaken. Golder Pass route then continues via Zentralbahn railway along the the north shore of Brienz Lake (Brienzersee) lake and over Brünig Pass to reach its end at Lucerne. A brand-new Golden Pass Express (GPX) trains and service was introduced in December 2022, featuring unique Alstom/Stadler gauge changing trains (between 1000mm narrow-gauge and 1435mm standard gauge), though some issues with the system are still being resolved before trains will be able to do a seamless Montreux to Interlaken journey.
