Johnny Groat's House is a Scottish Country Dance published by Rutherford in ~1756 and interpreted in RSCDS Book 19 in 1957. It is a proper 3 couple dance in a 4 couple set. The first Man sets to the 2d. Wo. & turns her with his right Hand, & his Partner with his Left— First Wo. does the same — Lead down between the 2d. Cou. & without Side the 3d turn your Partner, lead up to the Top, foot it, & cast off — foot it Corners & turn foot it yͤ other Corners & turn yr. own Partner — The animation plays at 120 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the figures more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color will change each time through the minor set.
