Film Noir has a look that's very distinctive. Black and white, low key and a style that's lifted from the pages of crime fiction books and comics. In this video photographer Gavin Hoey brings the film noir look to his small home studio thanks to some simple props and careful lighting. Gavin lights the whole scene with speedlights, building it up one light at a time to show you how and why each light is needed. After the shoot Gavin jumps in to Photoshop and covers the mono processing that gives his film noir shot it's classic black and white filmic look.
