Dozens of urban artists joined renowned muralist Roc Blackblock in Barcelona’s Jardines de las Tres Chimeneas to repaint a mural alluding to King Juan Carlos I that was erased by the city council and to show solidarity with rapper Pablo Hasel, on Sunday. Artists could be seen repainting a mural depicting the figure of the current king, Felipe VI, his father Juan Carlos I, and former Spanish dictator Francisco Franco. The figures appear under the phrase ’Spain is a fascist state.’ “We have renewed the call with more energy and more strength to denounce the same thing we did 15 days ago. Facing the cases of censorship we feel motivated to repeat, shout louder and paint the same thing,“ said artist Roc Blackblock.
