► Voicings PDF Download: In this lesson, we explore how to play beautiful Bossa Nova chord voicings using the classic Brazilian tune ‘Corcovado’. We arrange the tune in a style suitable for both beginner jazz pianists and those new to the Brazilian style. We explore various minor chord voicings and discuss how to find voicings which add extra colour, texture and character to our arrangement. We add interesting and sophisticated harmonies to the B section paying special attention to the implied inner voice movement. When we have a single chord type for more than 1 bar, a useful device to add interest is to add inner movement to the harmony. The first two bars of the B section this is a great example of how this can be applied. 00:00 Bossa Nova Chords 00:20 Am69 Voicing 02:18 Diminished 7th Chord 03:34 251 & Sus Chord 04:54 Tritone Sub Passing Chord 06:25 Inner Voice Lines 08:58 Upper Structure Triads 10:0
