When I first heard this story it was a real eye-opener for me. Sometimes we can get so caught up in the rat race and blinded by the pursuit of success, money and fame, even though what we actually wanted was there all along. The fisherman’s life is humble, that’s for sure, but he has all the makings of a happy and fulfilled life. Freedom to do what he wants, low stress, time for relaxation, leisure and hobbies, time to spend with family and friends and work that he enjoys and that brings in enough to provide for the family. If you can learn to understand how much is enough and be grateful with what you have in life rather than always chasing more you will not only probably be happier, but also get be able to get to financial independence a lot sooner!
