“The Siege of fort William Henry“ is a historical documentary, detailing a siege during the French and Indian War. Through reenactments, and animation a part of American History comes to life. In 1757 a French army of 9,000 men, including almost 2,000 of their American Indian allies, laid siege to Fort William Henry. For 6 long days the French cannons bombarded the fort, while their Indian allies harassed the men in the adjacent encampment. The British subjects in the fort held out for as long as they could, but ultimately the French forces were too much for them. This defeat led to a series of events made famous in “The Last of the Mohicans.” The siege of Fort William Henry being the backdrop to that story. The Siege of Fort William Henry was a pivotal event during the French and Indian War. The defeat became a rallying cry for the British and helped them recruit more colonial soldiers for the war.
