Labrador, Canada. English commentary, which cuts out suddenly. LS Ship in port, men board. Trawler in very rough sea with fishermen working on deck. Man watching projector of cartoons. Pack ice and seagulls. Rigging covered in ice. Slush ice on the sea. Man at window of trawler with binoculars. Marooned ships. Radar screen. Ships from Russia, Polish, Portugal and France around Labrador. Captain chatters on the phone. Man reading German language book. Trawl door held by rope under the sea. Winchman operating winch. Net dragged along the floor of the sea for 2 hours. the net is pulled in brimming with fish. Men on deck around the haul. Fish are dropped into a hold. 20 tons of cod enough to feed 100,000 people. Men come and fillet the fish. Fish move along conveyor belt for freezing. Blocks of frozen cod are dropped down shoot for packing. The trawler stays in the fishing grounds until the hold is full.
