Instead of helping his father and mother as the firstborn, Esau only enjoyed hunting, his favorite hobby, despised his birthright, and sold it for a bowl of lentil stew. In contrast, Jacob knew the value of blessings and worked diligently as the firstborn in obedience to his mother’s words.
