Possibly Lindia torulosa. Rotifers of this genus are sometimes described as uncommon, but they are certainly very abundant in one of my cultures (a fairly acidic microbe aquarium stocked with water from the Mer Bleu bog). These one-eyed rotifers have appeared along with a bloom of cyanobacteria, which appears to be their preferred food (the green coloration of this individual is from partially digested blue-green algae). Many have prominent auricles, although the specimen shown here does not. Trophi with long manubria visible in the second half of the video. The final sequence shows an egg on the verge of hatching. Body length 277 µm ; Egg 68 µm. 400X, 1000X oil immersion
