I've made only two modifications to this new 2024 true stereo remix of the official 2017 remix of one of my (and many others') favorite Beatles songs, 'Penny Lane'. The 2017 official remix was stunning, but I was a bit disappointed that a couple of things I was hoping for were not included. Paul's lead vocal remained double-tracked, and the baroque trumpet ending from the promo release was omitted. In my remix, to give Paul McCartney's wonderful lead vocal a more natural sound, I have eliminated the double-tracking on the verses. Double-tracking vocals in the 1960s was very common, but by the late '60s, this practice began to diminish.
