The circus comes to town in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Various shots of men laying out large circus tent. M/Ss and L/Ss of men pulling on rope to raise large tent up pole. M/Ss of man walking on stilts. They oversee the the proceedings. Several more shots of the tent being erected. M/Ss of numerous people inside tent pulling rope. L/Ss and M/Ss of 'quater poles' being put into place. Various shots of the animals arriving at station which includes a camel and elephants. Very good M/S of elephant climbing out of carriage.
