Hong Kong's new parliament has opened to chaotic scenes after newly-elected pro-democracy politicians mocked the swearing-in process and ripped up their oaths. The MPs declared loyalties to the semi-autonomous territory instead of mainland China and called out for “democratic self-determination“ during the oath-taking session on Wednesday.
